Common Questions Answered

Driving Schedule
Our partner carriers are linehaul operations that send drivers over the road for ten or more days at a time. Freight departs in the evenings and runs overnight. More details will be dependent on the specific position posting.
Are there dedicated schedules available?
Positions with fixed driving schedules will be posted as they become available. There are also opportunities that will arise with existing drivers, dependent on several factors, i.e, driver performance, endorsements - such as HAZMAT or tanker, and domicile location.
I prefer to be paid on a 1099, not a W2, or vice versa.
We will certainly do our very best to accommodate any requests when we can. However, for certain positions, W2 employment may be necessary or we will not be ably to legally operate in some states, i.e., California.
I want to become an owner-operator, can you help?
This is a common goal for many drivers, the freedom that comes with owning and operating your own unit. While we have not launched it yet, we are working on a pathway to ownership program that would allow a PJXC driver to purchase the truck they are in.
Who are your partner carriers? Can I switch companies?
So far, PJXC has a partnership with Forward Inc, and J Boren and Sons. Due to insurance requirements, etc. it is not legally possible for a driver to qualify for and run for both companies at the same time. If you are interested in making a switch at some point in your career, we'll review on a case by case basis.
How many days a year is a driver required to work?
This will vary based on position applied for - but generally 1099 positions offer more flexibility to make your own schedule. Run when you want to run, and schedule as much time off as you desire (and you can afford). W2 positions will have a more fixed schedule, but also the opportunity to earn paid time off.
